The Undoing Review

Hi guys! Welcome to my new review. Today I’m going to review “The Undoing”, an HBO tv show. The Undoing is a psychological thriller based on Korelitz’s novel called “You Should Have Known”. It was written and produced by David E. Kelley, who is the creator of Big Little Lies. The cast of this tv series stars Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Lily Rabe, Donald Sutherland and Matilda De Angelis. The show was nominated for 4 Golden Globes.

The plot: 

The protagonists Grace and Jonathan are respectively interpreted by Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. Grace works as a psychotherapist and Jonathan as a pediatric oncologist, they have a son named Henry. The story begins with a murder relating Elena (Matilda De Angelis), the mother of one of Henry’s classmates. The whole show is based on the research of the murderer.

Personal opinion: 

The theme song is “Dream a Little Dream of Me” and it’s sung by Nicole Kidman. The show is amazing and it’s written very well; it keeps the viewer with continue suspense. Nicole and Hugh are extraordinary in the show and also Matilda did a very good job, in fact even if she has a few minutes of screenplay the viewers always thinks of the mystery that surrounds her. The show made me doubt every character and when I found out who was the killer I was shocked even if I suspected the real killer from the beginning. The ongoing suspense brought me to finish this tv show in a few days. Each character is mysterious and each of them has something to hide. If you like thrillers and mystery or if you liked Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects, then you’re certainly going to enjoy this show.
