Sharp Objects Review

Sharp objects

Hi guys! This is my first review ever hope you enjoy it!

Sharp objects is an HBO television miniseries based on Gillian Flynn’s novel. It could be described as a psychological thriller where mystery is the main topic. The series is created by Marti Noxon, who is famous for the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The cast of this series is simply unique: Amy Adams, Patricia Clarckson, Sophia Lillis, Sydney Sweeney, and Eliza Scanlen are some of the names starring in Sharp objects. Also, the series had three golden globes nominations and Patricia Clarckson won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series. Every episode is full of suspense and every character is full of secrets, little by little we become aware of all these mysteries regarding each character.

First of all, I’m going to introduce quickly the plot:                                                                                    The protagonist is Camille Preaker, interpreted by Amy Adams, who is a crime reporter. After the disappearance of two girls in the city of Wind Gap, the hometown of the main character, the boss of Camille sends her to investigate the case. Camille returns to her mom’s home and she gets the chance to know her stepsister Amma (Eliza Scanlen). The return to her hometown leads Camille to recall her past and so her little self (Sophia Lillis) and all the traumas caused by her mother Adora (Patricia Clarckson) and also by other people.

IMDB Rating: 8.1

Personal rating: 8

Now I want to tell my personal opinion: this Miniseries was really intriguing and the ongoing suspense and mystery brought me to finish it in a few days. I was curious to know the past of Camille and what brought her to be the person that she is in the present. Every character is fascinating in their own way; I liked how the stepsister and the mother were structured, written, and interpreted. Honestly, at the end of the series, I was literally speechless because I didn’t expect the plot twist. It is really well written, with an amazing cast and a really good plot, couldn’t ask for better!

I recommend Sharp objects in particular to people who like mystery, crime series.
